The Minister of Housing, Transport, and Infrastructure of the Community of Madrid, Jorge Rodrigo, accompanied by Miguel Núñez, Director General of Public Transport Infrastructure, visited the Line 3 extension works of Metro de Madrid, S.A., between the Villaverde Alto and El Casar sections. The project is being carried out by OSSA in conjunction with Grupo Azvi and COTODISA Obras y Servicios.
Currently, the 2.6 km of tunnel have been excavated, and work is underway on track installation and finishing touches. This new section of metro will connect the eastern arc of Metrosur with the rest of the metro network quickly and efficiently. The new El Casar station will have a direct connection to Line 12 and the C-3 metro lines, and will include a park-and-ride facility that will allow connections to other modes of transport.
