As a result of the downturn in Spanish mining, OSSA diversified its activity into the construction of road and rail tunnels

The company focussed its activity on roads and railways throughout Spain, working on major infrastructure development projects in Spain
Road tunnels: Guadarrama, Cadí, Negrón, Piqueras etc.
Railway tunnels: high-speed network AVE (e.g. Pajares, San Pedro, Ontígola etc.)
OSSA is currently involved in constructing the main railway network (AVE) and developing roads in Spain

In July 2008 Mercapital took majority ownership in conjunction with the Management Team. The original shareholders reinvested in a number of shares and they remain as minority shareholders

Key positions in the Management Team have been strengthened (CEO, COO, CFO, International Director), while maintaining the know-how of the previous team, as the company works towards reaching its new identified goals
Improvements in IT systems and Management Control
Launch of International Operations, having secured contracts worth over €682 million in Europe, Asia and Latin America, and working as a partner in deals in Emerging Markets
