OBRAS SUBTERRÁNEAS S.A. has signed up to the Global Compact and is a member of the Spanish Global Compact Network, adhering to the ten principles and reinforcing the activity carried out over the years with a commitment to respect Human Rights, the Environment, with free, ethical and responsible Labour conditions, working against and reporting Corruption in all its forms.




More than sixty years in the business have made OBRAS SUBTERRANEAS a solid, solvent company, with the capacity to handle all types of projects within its sphere of action. This is possible thanks to its commitment to a corporate strategy based on:
Awareness that the type of project performed is of great technical difficulty and involves a high level of risk for its workers.

Considering that performance of more profitable, sustainable subterranean works means integrating Quality, respect for the Environment and productive, safe work.

A commitment to R&D&I as the basis for national and international development and expansion.

Boosting the company’s international presence based on its skill and know-how as a specialist company founded on the previously mentioned points and focussing on the interest groups involved in the company’s processes: employees, clients, providers and society.


In line with this approach, the Management of Obras Subterráneas has established the following commitments:
Devoting particular attention to the Health and Safety of its workers, preventing damages and deterioration to their health.

Preventing contamination, reducing the production of waste, promoting recycling and reuse of the resources employed, as well as operating under criteria and methods committed to energy efficiency.

Involving the providers in the productive process, promoting their sustainable participation in all its phases.

Furthering the know-how and skill of Obras Subterráneas S.A. in the development of technological products in the construction sector, focusing on the innovations and technological changes the market requires.


To achieve these goals the company’s Management has established the following strategies:
Promoting people, furthering their participation, being receptive to their opinion and encouraging their collaboration in the enhancement of processes and systems, motivating them to have a strong sense of responsibility in the performance of their work.

Facilitating their personal and professional development through continuous training programmes which ensure the company has highly qualified staff aware of the importance of the Health and Safety of all workers, Quality, respect for the Environment and Development and Innovation.

Promoting team work and cooperation in all areas of the organisation, both internal and external, furthering collaboration relationships with clients, providers and subcontractors providing greater understanding, acceptance and participation in this policy of prevention, quality, environment and R&D&I.

Establishing and implementing integrated management systems based on the requirements of the OHSAS 18001:2007, UNE-ISO-9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and UNE 166002:2006 standards.

Ensuring the protection and exploitation of the results of the R&D&I activities in order to maintain and improve competitiveness and the position on the market and promoting the participation of everyone within the organisation in the generation of innovative ideas as one of the cornerstones of the R&D&I process.
